Requirements
  • Be a student beginning or completing the senior year toward a Bachelor's degree.
  • Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English, except in Puerto Rico.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities
  • Learn to provide an extraordinary customer experience in a retail store setting.
  • Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, offering help proactively, identifying needs, and servicing until satisfied.
  • Learn from the store, pharmacy, district manager, competitors, and customers or patients.
  • Engage in a kick-off and day of service activity.
  • Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, including scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
  • Assist the manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and in reverse logistics, including returns and empty packages.
  • Learn to analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management, including ordering items, keeping stock, liquidating stock, and leveraging company resources to avoid outs and overstock.
  • Assist the manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing promotional, seasonal, super-structure, and sale-merchandise displays; complete resets and revisions.
  • Engage in weekly meetings with the store manager or pharmacy manager.
  • Complete basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed to support accurate product pricing.
  • Complete pricing tasks related to local regulations and regulatory compliance programs accurately and within the required time frame.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance, including requesting store or system repairs when required.
  • Assist with separation of food items and product placement according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist with stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method and restock outs for consumable items.
  • Maintain working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
  • Receive exposure to financial and performance data analysis for the store, pharmacy, and clinic, and to asset protection data analysis and loss-reduction action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
  • Work as a group to complete the Intern Team Challenge and present it to area, district, and store leaders.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Complete an evaluation of the internship program upon completion.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Attend training and complete e-learning and special assignments requested by the manager.
  • Shadow the district leader for the specified time.
  • Report customer complaints to management.
  • Assist the store manager in planning and attending community events.
