Responsibilities
  • Perform inbound and outbound workflow movement and processing for subcontracted goods.
  • Load and unload trailers.
  • Confirm delivery accuracy and match paperwork to physical goods.
  • Unload inbound trailers, receive goods into the enterprise resource planning system, match labels to physical stock, and put stock away.
  • Pick and pack outbound deliveries, print labels from the enterprise resource planning system, consolidate outbound loads, process outbound deliveries in the enterprise resource planning system, and load trailers and sign documents.
  • Complete inventory counts when requested.
  • Move materials throughout the site using mechanical handling equipment, including finished goods, subcontracted goods, lineside materials, and raw materials.
  • Pick and deliver raw materials to manufacturing and load material onto heading machines when required.
  • Complete supporting enterprise resource planning transactions and processes, including material consumption, staging to supply areas, and validating material against production orders.
  • Undertake other work within the employee’s capability as required by the company.

Stanley Black & Decker to close Maryland tool factory. At one time, the factory employed 3,800 workers. Sep 2, 2026 On August 19, tool giant Stanley Black & Decker filed a WARN notice with the state of Maryland, alerting officials to its plans to close a 75-year-old factory. Built in 1951 to produce power tools, the Hampstead, Maryland, Black & Decker plant well preceded the 2010 merger between the former company and Stanley Works. And over the years, the company's name isn't the only thing that's changed. While Hampstead employed 3,800 by the late 1960s, by 1985 - according to reports - its power tool manufacturing production was shuttered "when efforts to modernize the plant failed." The company then began using the space mainly as a distribution center - even selling the building along the way - and maintained a small presence to date, for "powdered metal manufacturing and limited warehousing and distribution." And while a shadow of its former self, the facility does still employ about 55 workers - that is, until October, when the layoff proceedings will begin, concluding with the facility's target shutdown in March of 2027. The Baltimore Sun spoke with Stanley Black & Decker spokesperson Debora Raymond, who said the company had, over the past several years, "seen a steady decline in volume in the materials produced at [the] Hampstead facility" and, as such, the closure was pursued. Raymond said the firm was "focused on providing a smooth transition to impacted employees, including options for employment at other Stanley Black & Decker U.S. facilities and operations for salaried employees, in addition to severance and job placement support services for both salaried and hourly employees." Stanley Black & Decker announced more than 300 layoffs and a plant closure earlier this year in New Britain Connecticut - once dubbed "Hardware City." The company blamed the move on a lack of demand for single-sided tape measures. Aug 21, 2026 - 10:16 WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump has deployed Cabinet officials across the United States to promote his administration's record on manufacturing, energy, health care, transport and border security, the White House said. The coordinated visits stretched from Alaska and California to Iowa, Ohio, Texas and Florida. Officials used factory tours, farm roundtables and public events to highlight federal spending, tax cuts and other administration policies. The White House described the travel as evidence that Trump's "America First agenda is delivering real, measurable wins for the American people". Its statement compiled recent reports from local media organisations across the country. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick visited Apple's new advanced manufacturing centre in Houston. He presented the expansion as part of Trump's campaign to restore domestic technology production. "President Trump set out to bring technological manufacturing back to America," Lutnick said. "And he's actually doing it, and he's doing it right now." In Bakersfield, California, Lutnick also joined Representative Vince Fong for a roundtable with farmers. The discussion focused on agricultural exports and challenges facing the industry. Energy Secretary Chris Wright travelled to the Permian Basin as part of the Department of Energy's "Great American Energy Comeback Tour". He visited an ExxonMobil oil rig with Representative August Pfluger and promoted the administration's push for greater US energy production. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent used appearances in Iowa and Arizona to make the case for Trump's tax policies. He visited Vermeer Corp. in Pella and later joined House Speaker Mike Johnson and Representative Juan Ciscomani at a Frito-Lay facility in Casa Grande. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced infrastructure spending during stops in Florida and Ohio. In Tampa, he unveiled a $16.5 million award for a passenger ferry linking Tampa and St. Petersburg, as well as a $1 million shipyard grant. Duffy also announced a $5 billion investment in the US rail system during a visit to Cincinnati. The programme would close 30 railway crossings and upgrade another 1,000, according to the material released by the White House. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promoted community health centres, rural health care and youth fitness. In Atwater, California, he announced a $102 million investment in rural health centres. At an Iowa YMCA, he promoted the administration's presidential fitness test for children. Such appearances also give administrations access to local audiences beyond national political media.
