Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Construction, Engineering, or related field
  • Current Architectural or Engineering license required
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry with at least 6 years of specifications writing experience
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques
  • Advanced technical knowledge
  • Previous experience working on state of California projects
  • CSI certification required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of programs
  • Proficiency in specification editing software
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud and MS Lists is preferred
  • Experience with Engineering Specifications a plus
Responsibilities
  • Produce Project Manuals utilizing specification editing software
  • Author Architectural sections for Project Manuals
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Mentor younger Specification Writers and Coordinators
  • Coordinate Project Manuals for all disciplines
  • Review and provide revisions to project specific Keynotes
  • Review in-progress drawings for technical specifications
  • Propose continual development of master specifications
  • Participate in progress meetings for assigned projects
  • Assist with shop drawing and product substitution review during CA Phase
  • Collaborate with peers to develop best practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Support Sustainability goals of the firm
  • Act as a mentor to others
