Requirements
  • Bachelor's, preferably advanced degree of relevance in digital medicine/engineering/computer science, and 8+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Strong business knowledge with proven leadership abilities and strong executive presence
  • Possesses familiarity with and awareness of the full pharmaceutical industry lifecycle
  • Capable of working cooperatively across boundaries and within a matrix to achieve results
  • Ability to deliver complex systems to one or multiple geographies and business units

Responsibilities
  • Establishes and leads a core delivery team plus matrixed IT resources to drive the development and implementation of digital medicine/therapeutics technology product assets
  • Partners with IT functional leaders to establish a DevOps operating model to enable a smooth transition between development, operation, maintenance, and sustaining of DM/DTx solutions
  • Accountable for technical delivery of the DTx integrated IT Portfolio in alignment with the DTx product roadmap that will be developed with the Digital Health Working Group (DHWG)
  • Partners with business and IT stakeholders to define, plan for, prioritize, deliver & support strategic digital therapeutic capabilities to ensure maximum value is achieved. The IT stakeholders can potentially include Supply Chain, Cybersecurity, Data Privacy/Protection, Solution Architecture, Web/Mobile, User Experience, Business Continuity, Cloud Computing, IT Quality Management, Validation, Partner Enablement, Patient Safety, Help Desk Services, and BI&A Reporting. Some functions may be core to the DM/DTx Delivery team while others matrixed support. The IT Director of DM/DTx will provide recommendations on the structure and makeup
  • Develop and execute an IT strategy to expand skills and capabilities related to digital medicine and software classified as medical device (SaMD) to handle a more sophisticated digital therapeutics portfolio that will include support for orchestration of care across an expanding ecosystem
  • Partners with key business stakeholder areas like the Digital Health Working Group, Quality, Regulatory, and others to inform pipeline decision making, QMS development, regulatory strategies, etc
  • Own and drive a digital therapeutics delivery framework by engaging input from business and IT functional stakeholders. Partner with organizational stakeholder group to advance awareness and understanding of SaMD development best practices and standards
  • Work to identify and propose platform and partner capabilities that can support multiple programs / initiatives
  • Define 3-year digital capability roadmaps in line with business project pipeline & IT architecture strategy, focusing on speed, quality, cost, and innovation
  • Manages technical Total Cost of Ownership (builds and run) and the key drivers behind them to ensure the digital capabilities are cost efficient
  • Participate in ongoing development and enhancement of cross-functional team structures, processes, systems, other tools and resources
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong experience leading SaMD development efforts in a pharmaceutical organization or in partnership with a pharmaceutical organization
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering SaMD solutions through development for clinical trials or commercial settings
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with SaMD standards, guidelines, regulations, and approval processes in the US, as well as the EU or other global markets
  • Understanding of design control processes, SDLC, and other SaMD development concepts and best practices
  • Ability to establish trust with key stakeholders by demonstrating ability to deliver
  • Experience leading in a cross-functional biotech or pharma drug, device and/or software development setting
  • Strong track record of delivering results through effective team leadership and by establishing and leading high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively with alliances and external partners from opportunity exploration thru contracting
  • Familiar with Agile, DevOps, and Continuous development practices
