Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience developing and deploying production artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, including cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services or similar platforms, with a track record of delivering complex applications from design through production.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and software engineering best practices, including source control, continuous integration and continuous delivery, testing, documentation, and developing scalable, maintainable software.
  • Hands-on expertise building production artificial intelligence solutions, including large language model applications, artificial intelligence agents, retrieval-augmented generation, conversational artificial intelligence, document intelligence, and agentic workflows, using modern artificial intelligence frameworks and tooling.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating end-to-end machine learning pipelines, including model training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement in production environments.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, data quality, and artificial intelligence system evaluation, including developing benchmarks, defining performance metrics, analyzing errors, and optimizing systems for accuracy, reliability, scalability, cost, and latency.
  • Experience contributing to technical architecture and design discussions, conducting code and design reviews, and mentoring or supporting the growth of other engineers.
  • Ability to document technical solutions, partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver production artificial intelligence systems, including document intelligence, intelligent knowledge systems, agentic orchestration, conversational artificial intelligence, and generative artificial intelligence applications, to support internal and external business processes, digital experiences, and workflow automation at scale.
  • Own artificial intelligence projects end-to-end, from problem scoping and stakeholder alignment through solution design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement, delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions, including application programming interface design, system decomposition, evaluation strategy, and infrastructure patterns, while following and contributing to artificial intelligence and machine learning platform engineering standards.
  • Develop and apply evaluation frameworks for artificial intelligence systems, defining statistically sound, problem-specific metrics, curating benchmark datasets, and enforcing strict versioning for reproducibility and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, Legal, and Business stakeholders to identify artificial intelligence opportunities, translate requirements into technical plans, and communicate tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers through code review, design review, pair problem-solving, and knowledge sharing, serving as a technical role model.
  • Identify systemic problems and propose solutions to improve team processes, tooling, and infrastructure, reduce technical debt, and increase development velocity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in financial services or financial technology, particularly in document-heavy, regulated, or compliance-sensitive environments.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, conference presentations, patents, or other demonstrated thought leadership in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning.
