- 3 to 7 years of accounting and tax experience
- Minimum of 3 years in the financial services industry
- Bachelors or advanced degree in accounting required
- CPA or Masters Degree in Taxation preferred
- Strong tax technical background in tax information reporting requirements applicable to retail brokerage business
- Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Excel
- Ensure compliance with US, state and similar non-US information reporting and withholding tax rules, including year-end IRS Forms 1099, 1042-S and Canadian Forms T3, T5, T5008 and RL
- Strong understanding of wash sales, basis computation and corporate action reporting
- Work closely with programming teams to provide timely and accurate tax reporting
- Identify and design improvements to tax withholding and reporting systems
- Provide tax support to customers and sales personnel
- Oversee US and Canadian retirement account compliance
- Research and provide guidance on new tax legislation and regulations; and
- Develop and provide webinars on current tax topics for customers
