About the Position
The Financial Analyst position reports to a Finance Manager and will analyze financial information, prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the month-end close process, including responsibility for revenue reporting and P&L analytics
- Research, identify, and communicate key variances relating to financial and operational metrics
- Complete monthly journal entries and reconcile revenue within required timeline
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts in detail within required timeline
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements
- Work with Operations teams, assisting them with accounting related service issues
- Review producer commission reporting, including coordinating with business partners and responding to inquiries
- Participate in the monthly forecast process, including preparing analytics and coordinating with business partners
- Improve upon existing and implement new reporting as requested by management
- Provide ad-hoc financial and operational analysis to support business decisions
- Contribute to preparation of business presentations for all levels of management
- Participate in annual budget process
- Assist in integrating M&A deals into the existing operations, including tracking of earnout calculations
- Assist with other special projects, as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1-3 years of accounting and finance experience required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient MS Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
- Proactive drive to get things done and anticipate what is needed
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Desire to learn and grow
- Willingness to work over 40 hours, particularly during the month-end close and budget process
