Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is required.
  • At least three years of financial reporting or project management experience is required.
  • Expert knowledge of financial analysis and reporting is required.
  • Knowledge of computer simulation and forecasting techniques is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, organize, and complete strategic and complex financial or business projects by identifying and extracting data, evaluating and interpreting findings, and presenting results formally to senior management.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc financial and operating reports; evaluate and analyze reports and data; develop conclusions and recommendations; and communicate findings orally or in writing to management.
  • Monitor financial operations for a large university operating area or significant financial activity, identify problems or trends, evaluate solutions, and seek resolution or escalate matters to senior management.
  • Review accounting, reporting, and data management systems and methods for adequacy, and contribute to developing or modifying financial systems and applications to enhance reporting and information capabilities.
  • Provide internal financial consulting services and advise on complex or technical financial issues.
  • Follow established USC and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree, preferably a Master of Business Administration, is preferred.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in financial reporting or project management is preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Financial System is preferred.
  • Advanced to expert Excel skills are preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are preferred.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills are preferred.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism in maintaining confidentiality is preferred.
  • Experience in a complex academic medical center or healthcare environment is preferred.
