Requirements
  • Two year college degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • HSPA or CBSPD certification.
  • Previous experience in instrument processing and sterilization experience in perioperative services required.
  • Experience teaching or precepting in central sterile supply.
  • Demonstrate expertise in staff education, sterile processing technician delivery, evidence-based practice and collaborates with other disciplines in professional development activities.
Responsibilities
  • Providing personalized education by designing, developing, implementing and evaluating classroom and clinical instruction to support the orientation and ongoing educational needs and experiences in CSS.
  • Providing support, education, guidance, and direction to the Central Sterile team in order to attain/maintain quality instrumentation, customer service and safe care to patients in clinical areas.
  • Functioning as an educational consultant within the Operating Rooms and CSS working to cultivate collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect.
  • Providing supportive services directed towards achievement of competencies, certification, cross training, development, revision, training, and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Making data driven decisions to create and implement standards across the enterprise including within policy and procedure documentation, best practices, and error analysis utilizing department tools.
  • Incorporating knowledge in clinical practice and adult learning principles.
  • Analyzing complex projects, consulting and collaborating with all members of the health care team.
  • Serving as a role model and resource for all staff development including supervisors, leads, staff and students within the unit/department/organization.
  • Focusing on accomplishing strategic and tactical goals and initiatives in the organization under the direction of the CSS Managers.
