Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in surveying or land mapping is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Developing leadership and management skills are required.
- Expert knowledge of land mapping and technical survey instrument techniques is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide work control lines and elevations required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by field staff, including forms for concrete pours, anchor bolts, piping hangers, and supports.
- Ensure that crews perform layout work competently and accurately.
- Check as-built conditions using surveying techniques.
- Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
- Assist with conducting quantity calculations as required.
- Monitor and maintain the condition and calibration of surveying equipment.
- Coordinate survey activities with the assigned engineer and superintendents to meet construction requirements.
- Manage survey department resources and the department-assigned budget.
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional Land Surveyor certification is preferred.
