Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of work experience with access control and low voltage-related work.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and installing electrified door hardware.
  • Experience with RS-485, Wiegand, and OSDP wiring.
  • A current Arizona driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Ability to test and identify equipment and cable functionality.
  • Familiarity with Wiegand, OSDP, and other access control communication methods.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and low voltage test equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment or cable malfunctions and solve problems.
  • Ability to complete work orders accurately and on time.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, and maneuver in confined areas.
  • Ability to lift or move equipment, tools, and furniture weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and grasping.
  • Ability to work primarily indoors in an office-building environment subject to equipment noise, dust, and temperature or weather variation.
Responsibilities
  • Install, wire, and trim out head-end access control panels with clean and professional workmanship.
  • Install and service electrified door hardware, including panic devices, vertical rods, magnetic locks, transfer hinges, cylindrical and mortise locks, and automatic operators.
  • Configure, program, and integrate security and access control systems.
  • Install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and test various types of cable and equipment.
  • Pull cables through walls, overhead spaces, above drop ceilings, and underground structures.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal project teams to complete access control and low voltage projects.
  • Install and remove projectors, projector screens, speakers, podium equipment, cameras, and other audio-visual equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, work order notes, and verbal and written communications for tickets and projects.
  • Follow quality and safety codes for low voltage installations and repairs.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an AV integrator, access control technician, or commercial cabling firm environment.
  • Experience with Lenel, Verkada, Axis, Allegion, and ASSA ABLOY.
  • CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification.
