What you’ll do
Cloudflare is looking for a Director, Executive and Internal Communications, to join our team. This person will be focused on how we help share Cloudflare’s vision, corporate announcements/initiatives, and thought leadership internally to enable our team and executive spokespeople. We’re looking for an expert communicator who will build and scale this program to support our global team.
This role will serve as a center of excellence within the Communications Team, reporting to the Vice President of Global Communications, and acting as a strategic partner to various executives and stakeholders within the company. This person will help craft strategic communications plans and materials to support major initiatives, announcements, and internal content. They will cultivate and disseminate clear, impactful, and thoughtful content to global teams for internal consumption, and arm teams and top leadership with the best messaging, talking points, presentations, reports/stats for a variety of external audiences.This person thrives on distilling broader topics into individualized narratives for each executive/audience, and will help lead executive presence and preparation for internal communication and external engagements (top-tier public engagements).
Essential functions for this role:
- Leads, develops, and manages executive communications activities (internal and external) for an array of executives & top spokespeople
- Crafts executive and corporate communications messaging, narratives, and content across internal and external communication channels
- Supports Cloudflare’s overall communications program, while working closely with the People Team and other key stakeholders, to streamline/curate strategic internal comms content
- Supports content and executive speaker placements for top-tier public engagements and events
- Ensures alignment with Cloudflare’s evolving messaging, thought leadership trends, and announcements
- Excels at working with technical teams and various stakeholders to break down complex technologies and distill them into high-impact storylines, messaging, and soundbites that would resonate with a variety of audiences
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working in executive communications and supporting internal communications programs
- High level of project management acumen, especially leading major initiatives with C-Level executives and stakeholders across multiple teams
- Impeccable communication, writing, and presentation skills—and a tailored approach to crafting various storylines/speeches/presentations for a variety of executive talk tracks
- Experience with wide range of internal communication channels and tools
- Creative, hardworking, and flexible professionalism—you are able to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
- A global and local approach - you have experience leading initiatives across international teams
- A curious attitude and a team player who thrives on raising the bar and building programs from the ground up
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
- For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $159,000 - $195,000.
- For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area) and Washington hires: Estimated annual salary of $192,000 - $234,000.
- For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $202,000 - $246,000.
