Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a science or engineering field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in occupational safety and industrial hygiene is required.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and industrial hygiene technical subject matter and its application in real-life settings is required.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in occupational safety and industrial hygiene is required.
  • Knowledge of shop-floor industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring practices for chemicals, noise, and ventilation systems is required.
  • Knowledge of Similar Exposure Group monitoring concepts is required.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene program management, including hazard communication, hearing conservation, and respiratory protection, is required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals is required.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and monitor changes to laws and regulations affecting the organization is required.
  • Strong technical writing skills, ability to multitask, safety awareness, and understanding of safe work practices are required.
  • Experience with data management and report preparation is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive occupational safety and industrial hygiene consulting services, including conducting shop-floor observations to identify, assess, and risk-rank employee exposures to injury or illness and develop mitigation options.
  • Coordinate and execute safety and industrial hygiene projects with client relationship managers under established organizational procedures and standards.
  • Implement and execute agreed service plans with the external customer, monitor completion, and report progress as directed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives and velocity.
  • Advise customers on occupational safety and industrial hygiene issues.
  • Provide input to client relationship managers or business development staff on potential new EHS projects.
  • Execute occupational safety and industrial hygiene projects from start to finish, including exposure assessments, data tracking, deliverables, and program effectiveness evaluations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and execute technical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Meet customer needs in a timely manner and respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Meet established goals for personally generated revenue, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development as agreed with the Business Unit Manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate Safety Practitioner, Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, or Certified Industrial Hygienist credentials are desirable but not required.
  • Experience in manufacturing and assembly industries or heavy-industry settings is desirable.
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense or automotive industry is additionally desirable.
