Description
The Parts Counter Person is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers in selecting and purchasing automotive parts. This role involves interacting with both retail and wholesale customers, answering inquiries, processing orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in selecting the correct parts, providing accurate pricing, availability, and compatibility information.
- Process sales, phone inquiries, special orders, and backorders efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain and organize inventory: receive shipments, stock shelves, track levels, and report shortages.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Keep records, reports, and the parts department clean, organized, and compliant with dealership standards.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service and resolve issues promptly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in automotive parts or retail sales preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to bend, reach, and kneel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
