GM Financial completes first $53M debenture issue in Brazil

GM Financial Brasil has completed its first financial debenture worth R$300 million (approximately $52 million). Crédit Agricole CIB acted as structurer, coordinator and senior investor, whilst VERT partnered on structuring, issuance and management. The debenture marks GM Financial's first floorplan financing issuance in Brazil's capital markets, diversifying funding sources and supporting wholesale operations growth. The issuance is backed by credit rights from these operations. According to Marcio Frazão, CFO of GM Financial Brasil, the operation opens a new alternative for automotive sector financing through securitisation structures. The debenture was structured using receivables as collateral. GM Financial, General Motors' wholly owned financing subsidiary, has operated in Brazil since 1930, offering financing, consortium, insurance and fleet management solutions.
