IonQ is developing the world’s most powerful full-stack quantum computer based on trapped-ion technology. We are pushing past the limits of classical physics and current supercomputing technology to unlock a new era of computing. Quantum computing has the potential to impact every area of human society for the better. IonQ’s computers will soon redefine industries like medicine, materials science, finance, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cryptography, and more. IonQ is at the forefront of this technological revolution.
The salary range for this position is $115,692 to $151,471.
We are looking for a Senior Power Conversion Architect. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.
As a Power Conversion Architect at IonQ, you will be leading the design, implementation, optimization and enhancement of the power distribution network for our trapped-ion quantum computer systems. Working with other engineers, you will design the rack configuration, environmental control systems, power conversion and distribution for our Quantum systems. This position requires expertise in power quality from 3-phase line inputs all the way down to ultra-low-noise board level PDN systems.
Responsibilities:
Define and capture rack level infrastructure and configuration based on system requirements Design the power management system for our Quantum systems to condition and distribute input power from the facility to all racks / components of our systems; Ensure uninterruptible power within our systems
- As part of the Electronic Design team, contribute to specific PDN designs to ensure electromagnetic compatibility between custom IonQ devices and externally procured electronic hardware.
- Ensure that the power conversion and distribution system is isolated from conducted and radiated interference within a data center.
- As an expert in EMI / shielding techniques, contribute to the design of enclosures to protect sensitive electronics and optics.
