Position Purpose:
The Sr. Manager, Pricing Strategy will drive the development and execution of comprehensive pricing strategies to achieve enterprise-level goals. This leader will act as a strategic partner to key stakeholders, including Merchandising, Pro, IT, and Marketing, to align pricing initiatives with company objectives and customer needs. The Senior Manager will directly manage one or more Senior Analysts, providing mentorship and guidance while fostering a collaborative team environment. This role is accountable for delivering insights, influencing leadership, and championing pricing best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Develop relationships with cross functional partners to collaborate and to determine company goals and objectives, conduct standard and ad hoc analysis to identify key drivers of performance, recommend pricing decisions and strategies that will improve category performance and develop financial plans that reflect pricing changes. Typical analysis will include: (a) marketplace and macroeconomic trends impacting the category including competitive assessment, (b) customer segmentation and responsiveness (c) line structure and line structure engineering, (d) localization, including defining pricing zone definition, (e) promotional effectiveness, (f) transaction and basket penetration, (g) consumer psychology.
- Develop executive-level presentations that summarize analysis including historical performance, strategic rationale underpinning pricing decisions and expected financial impact.
- Report out to all levels of management. Accountable for accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, timeliness and viability of recommendations.
- Provide process management for monitoring progress and proactively identifying and communicating issues. Review project milestones, conduct postmortem analysis and integrate new sources of data that support category objectives. Lead team in structuring strategy reviews, assessing requirements and design analysis.
- Provide thought leadership to team relative to reviews. Oversee development of executive-level presentations that summarize analysis including historical category performance, strategic rationale underpinning pricing decisions and expected financial impact.
- Lead report out to all levels of management. Accountable for teams accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, timeliness and viability of recommendations.
- 50% Develop the necessary communication to leadership to gain alignment and partner with IT and other cross functional teams to prioritize efforts that support the execution of strategies.

- This position reports to Sr. Director Pricing.
- This position has 5 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree, preferably with a focus on strategy, analytics, or business management.
- Extensive experience in retail pricing, merchandising, planning, or advanced analytics, with a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and leading data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), with the ability to turn raw data into compelling insights.
- Exceptional analytical skills, including expertise in financial modeling, price elasticity analysis, and deriving actionable insights from complex datasets.
- Outstanding communication skills, with a proven ability to craft and deliver persuasive presentations that resonate with senior leadership and drive strategic alignment.
- Advanced project management capabilities, adept at prioritizing competing deadlines and managing large-scale initiatives in dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated success in influencing executive-level stakeholders and fostering alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, mentoring talent, and cultivating a collaborative team culture.
- Deep understanding of financial principles, including retail and cost accounting methods, to inform strategic pricing decisions and improve profitability.
