Requirements
  • Educated to SCQF level 8 which includes HND or SVQ level 4 or equivalent or equivalent vocational accreditation in a computing/ systems or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience of managing medium scale IT projects across an organisation
  • Experience of supporting IT projects, ideally including COTS procurement and/or implementation
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining progress in a complex organisational environment, where delivery can involve multiple stages, stakeholders and approvals, requiring persistence, patience, and strong organisational discipline
  • A positive, solution-focused approach to working within a complex environment, with the ability to respond constructively to change, ambiguity and challenge
  • The confidence to stay organised and maintain progress, proactively communicating, escalating issues, and seeking support where needed
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across a range of audiences
  • The confidence to provide constructive challenge and navigate sensitive or complex conversations with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior colleagues, to support effective decision-making and keep projects on track
  • Confidence using tools such as Microsoft Office, Planner, and project tracking systems
  • An understanding of project management principles or methodologies
  • Confidence to ask questions, seek guidance and draw on peer support to achieve successful outcomes

Responsibilities
  • Work with all Services, Partnerships and Arm's Length Organisations (ALEOs) across Fife Council to deliver technology projects
  • Coordinate the procurement, solutions assurance, and implementation of Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) solutions
  • Work alongside subject matter experts from across the Council, technical teams, and service stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Play a key role in ensuring projects are well coordinated, governed, and communicated
  • Maintain progress over longer timescales, where delivery can involve multiple stages, dependencies, and approvals
  • Demonstrate persistence and clear communication to achieve project outcomes
  • Proactively communicate, escalate issues, and seek support where needed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations across a range of audiences
  • Provide constructive challenge and navigate sensitive or complex conversations with senior colleagues as needed to keep projects on track
  • Utilise tools such as Microsoft Office, Planner, and project tracking systems for project management
