Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field of study or high school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience performing estimates and managing fireproofing projects, spray-applied insulation projects, or slab edge and penetration firestopping projects.
  • 1+ year of experience performing estimates and managing projects using The EDGE software.
  • Field experience or exposure a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and project management methods.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong numerical and reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Responsibilities
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will invest time learning the industry and who the players are, including customers and competitors.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will build rapport quickly with new contacts and begin building credibility and a network of customer contacts.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager may participate in customer meetings alongside a more senior MAREK representative.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will learn estimating tools, technology and approach as it related to estimating and pricing change orders.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will estimate and provide pricing for work orders and change orders.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will develop base foundation of product knowledge, market structure and conditions, and drawings and specifications as they related to estimating and pricing changes, etc.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will partner with field leaders and customers to assist in planning pre-job, including identifying and resolving potential scope, schedule, sequence, contract, budget, safety, material staging or manpower.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will proactively ask questions when he or she does not understand construction documents.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will develop a fair and achievable budget for labor, material and equipment, and provide the budget in a timely manner.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will submit RFIs, prices work order or change orders, and creates submittals.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will solicit competitive proposals and buyout of materials, vendors and subcontractors.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will engage in regularly scheduled production look-ahead meetings.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will ensure timely billing and collections.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will be regularly present on the job to support field team and effectively navigate safety, cost, and quality issues
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will capture, organize and maintain project documentation to mediate potential risk of back charges.
  • The Estimator-Project Manager will provide feedback to project throughout the lifecycle of the project to project management team to improve future projects.
