IT Administrators, We Want You!
The Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team is seeking an early career Desktop Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Classified Solutions support team in Linthicum, MD.
Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Provides technical support for thin clients in a virtual environment and MS Windows System Administration.
Exhibits good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.
Installs, troubleshoots, services, related thin-client software, voip phones, cables, and connectors.
Instructs and assists users in the use of zero clients and networks.
Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Windows desktop OS, Office Product Suite.
Successfully follows all Security regulations, guidelines, and processes regarding the installation, maintenance, and retirement of thin-clients and thin-client-related hardware and software.
Manage user accounts, enforce access controls, and provide technical support.
Configuring Windows Group Policy to automate required
Works with system administrators and other staff to resolve support issues, escalating where appropriate.
Reviews the trouble ticket queue to identify issues that need to be addressed.
Works through the ticket queue without intervening management direction (self-motivated).
Diagnoses, identifies, isolates and analyzes problems utilizing historical database records.
Route calls to product line specialists. Maintains and updates records and tracking databases.
Resolves technical problems and answers, queries by telephone in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems within established SLAs.
Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
Establishes and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policies.
Participates in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.
Possess a technical understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Operations, including Service Desk, Desktop, Network, Telecommunications, Data Center, Application Support, Service Level Management, and other areas of IT Operations.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma and 4 years of experience; OR an Associates degree and 2 years of experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of experience is required
Must have a DoD 8570 IAT level II (or higher) security certification (examples: Security+ CE)
Candidates must have a current DOD Top Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered
Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment
Experience in Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Product Suites, and remote deployment methods
Experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory administration
Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or Cyber Security
Active DOD Top Secret/SCI, or SAP/SAR access is preferred
3 years of experience with administration in a classified environment
Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCSE or MCSA) a plus
Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop thin-clients, SCCM, PowerShell
Cross-platform experience (i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.)
Experience supporting VMware VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory administration, and LAN/WAN networking
Experience in automating tasks utilizing scripting and/or orchestration tools
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software in a virtual environment
Familiarity with Virtual environment using VMware products (i.e., vCenter, ESXi, etc.)
Familiarity with Windows based Servers (2019, 2022) and Clients (Windows 10/11)
Familiarity with various backup technologies (NetApp and/or Nutanix)
Familiarity with auditing tools (Splunk, Logparser)
Familiarity with RSA SecurID Multifactor Authentication
Familiarity with NSX-t Software Defined Networking.
Familiarity with thin client or zero client operations.
Familiarity with Sentris data tagging software

Salary Range: $56,600.00 - $94,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
