Job description

We are looking for a talented Applied Scientist with outstanding problem-solving skills to join our machine learning infrastructure team. You will be working with a small group of ambitious engineers and applied scientists who are building the future of robotic perception using some of the most exciting and challenging state of the art technologies in computer vision and machine learning. Your job will include:

• Designing and implementing data generation, augmentation, and analysis tools
• Designing and implementing automation of the end-to-end neural network training pipelines
• Developing cloud solutions for data generation and training pipelines with AWS
• Implementing accuracy and performance benchmarks
• Evaluating system performance on different hardware setups
• Contributing to the general software development activities
• Designing and taking ownership of the release process of the trained assets

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PHD degree (or equivalent experience) with focus on computer engineering
• 3+ years of experience in software development (or equivalent academic and industry experience)
• Strong programming skills (data structure, algorithms, OO)
• Excellent understanding of HPC infrastructure

Desirable qualifications

• Python programming experience
• CUDA programming experience
• 3D modeling software experience
• Deep-learning experience using PyTorch
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience with Continuous Integration Tools

In compliance with the British Columbia Pay Transparency Act, the base salary range for this role is between $95,000-$130,000 CAD in British Columbia. This range is not inclusive of our equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
