Job Description
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Product Manager to join our dynamic team at MailOnline. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing the site experience, driving reader engagement, optimizing video content, and implementing personalization strategies to deliver an exceptional user experience.
Responsibilities
1. Site Experience Enhancement:
- Analyse user behaviour and feedback to identify areas for improvement in the website’s design, layout, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and editorial, to prioritize and implement site enhancements.
- Conduct A/B testing and user research to gather insights and make data-driven decisions to optimize the site experience.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase reader engagement across the website, such as recirculation features and content recommendations.
- Monitor engagement metrics, including time spent on site, click-through rates, and return visits, and propose initiatives to improve these metrics.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify innovative ways to engage readers and foster a loyal user community.
- Collaborate with the video production team to optimize video content for maximum viewer engagement and retention.
- Analyze video performance metrics, such as completion rates and click-through rates, and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Explore new video formats and trends, such as livestreaming and interactive videos, to enhance the video viewing experience on the website.
- Implement personalization strategies to deliver tailored content and recommendations based on user preferences and behavior.
- Work closely with data and analytics teams to gather user insights and develop algorithms that improve content recommendations and user segmentation.
- Continuously test and refine personalization algorithms to ensure relevance and accuracy of recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in product management, preferably in a digital media or publishing environment.
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and ability to apply them to improve website design and functionality.
- Familiarity with web analytics tools, A/B testing, and user research methodologies.
- Knowledge of video optimization techniques and trends in online video consumption are desired but not essential.
- As is experience with personalization strategies, including user segmentation and content recommendation algorithms.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
- Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
