- Graduation from an American Medical Association-approved school of radiology technology is required.
- Certification as a medical radiologic technologist is required by the state in which the employee practices.
- Registration as a radiography technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
- Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Proficiency with most X-ray and computed tomography equipment, manufacturers' hardware and software, and Picture Archiving and Communication System technology is required.

- Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to physicians, nurses, and other technical and administrative staff throughout the facility.
- Operate and maintain imaging department equipment, including X-ray, computed tomography, computed radiography readers, and Picture Archiving and Communication System technology.
- Perform imaging examinations according to established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, and notify the physician on duty of the results.
- Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician or nurse on duty.
- Maintain required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures and COLA and CLIA regulations.
- Maintain adequate supplies of reagents and consumables for quality testing.
- Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks for imaging equipment according to established protocols.
- Perform laboratory quality control, proficiency testing, and periodic split-sample analysis according to facility procedures.
- Retain records of analytic activities for a minimum of two years.
- Perform assigned quality-assessment activities and document them for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Director.
- Perform emergency-room technician duties as needed.
- Travel to all facility locations as required.
- Attend required staff meetings and other company-sponsored or mandated meetings.
- Perform additional assigned duties.
- An Associate's Degree in Radiology is preferred.
- Registration as a computed tomography technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is preferred.
- Two or more years of radiologic or imaging experience is preferred.
- One or more years of computed tomography experience is preferred.
- One or more years of emergency-room experience is preferred.
