Requirements
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Physical ability to walk or stand for more than 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% in a given week or month.
  • Solid proficiency in ArcGIS.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read engineering plans and interpret aerial imagery.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently for extended periods with little to no guidance or direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of data collection principles and practices, with experience deploying or operating mobile geographic information system solutions, including GPS units with ArcPad and Trimble GPS Analyst.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a solid understanding of cartographic principles.
  • Valid REAL ID-compliant identification or other federally accepted identification necessary to gain access to United States military or government installations.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Use geographic information systems to support various missions on military installations throughout the United States and abroad.
  • Utilize global positioning systems and other tools to locate and map utilities and infrastructure.
  • Process field data and ensure that it meets predetermined accuracy standards.
  • Perform analysis on geospatial information and create concise reports or maps displaying the results of the analysis.
  • Interact with various military and civilian customers in a professional manner.
  • Support survey efforts and data collection, including wetland delineations, utility infrastructure assessment, real property assessments and mapping, GPS data collection, data-entry and analysis tools, impact assessments, figure development, and project review and permitting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with computer-aided design.
  • Experience with mapping and survey-grade GPS systems.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and 0–3 years of experience.
  • Exposure to database design, visualization technologies, and modeling and simulation.
