Requirements
  • Ten or more years of experience in civil engineering project management, preferably in waste management or solid waste sectors
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.) required or the ability to obtain
  • Expert in technical software and Civil Engineering technology, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software, and geotechnical modeling software
  • Experience in scope of service and budget (proposal) development, and demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
  • Established clients/contacts in the Solid Waste client sectors
  • Experience communicating with staff, clients, contractors, and government regulatory officials
  • Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process
Responsibilities
  • Manage project teams to complete engineering tasks such as airspace and earthwork volume calculations, prepare and review technical reports, design stormwater management systems, leachate collection systems, and landfill gas collection systems, perform geotechnical analyses, and prepare landfill grading plans and project details and specifications
  • Develop proposals and project budgets and schedules, manage the engineering staff, and perform quality control
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and local/state government officials to influence the project through conceptual and design phases, regulatory review, bidding, and construction
  • Mentor and assist in the professional development of staff, including annual reviews and development goal setting; participate in career-path development and mentoring activities
  • Possess flexibility for hybrid work arrangements and potential siting in Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA offices
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience with owner and contractor engagements and entrepreneurial aspects of project management
  • Ownership opportunities or potential profit-sharing consideration would be desirable
  • Proven ability to win work and develop client relationships in the solid waste sector
