The New Verticals group is a collection of Product Managers, Engineers, and Operators defining and building on our vision of connecting customers to the best of their cities all across the world – whether that’s a new neighborhood restaurant, a trusted nearby grocery store, or a local retailer.

About the Role

DoorDash is looking for product-oriented Engineering Managers to lead full stack teams within New Verticals. These teams are composed of iOS, Android, web, and backend engineers working with cross functional partners to build and scale new categories like Convenience, Pharmacy, Retail, and Alcohol on top of DoorDash’s platform.

As an Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with your Product and Business partners to define the roadmap and vision for your team, while helping your team members develop.

You will report into a Senior Engineering Manager within our New Verticals org. This team is based in NYC, with gatherings in our New York office a few times per quarter for planning, feature launches, or social activities.

• Manage, support, and grow a team of up to 11+ product/full stack engineers in owning the expansion and experience for multiple Categories
• Partner closely with recruiting and oversee the hiring process for your team, to grow a diverse and inclusive organization
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Design, and other stakeholders to determine the team’s roadmap, vision, and strategy. Manage execution against that roadmap. 
• Partner with the sales & operations teams to define and work on product improvements

• 2+ years of experience in people management leading a full stack team (backend, web, & mobile)
• Experience scaling products and teams in fast-paced environments
• Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
• Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
• Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
• Adaptable, resilient, and able to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you’ll need to help the team adjust and evolve

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
