Intel’s Sales, Marketing and Communications Group (SMG) is looking for candidates to join our organization for a 12-week Summer 2024 internship. SMG is collectively responsible for driving the accelerated adoption of Intel technology. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our machine learning toolset, data pipelines, and automation projects. Working closely with our team of engineers, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of data processing workflows. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building and maintaining of ML workflows, robust data pipelines, and automation that underpin our cutting-edge technologies.

We work across numerous industries, including retail, enterprise and government, cloud services and healthcare as examples. The operations team focuses on forecasting, driving alignment with factory production and delivering efficiency tools and our marketing capability drives demand and localized marketing in locations around the globe. Qualifications:
This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master’s or PhD degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with three years related job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled Full Time and pursuing a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science or related field.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Must be enrolled and progressing in a degree earning program during the internship, with a graduation date after the completion of internship.
- Ability to work full time (40hrs/week) for approximately 12 weeks between May-Septermber’24
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of software development and test process
- Proficiency in one or more of the following developer skills: Python, Java, C/C++, Go, Rust, JavaScript, MySQL
- Able to craft multi-functional requirements and translate them into practical engineering tasks.
- Knowledge of cross/full stack software development process
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
- Understanding of Machine Learning, domain-driven design, and complex infrastructure
- Excellent debugging and critical thinking skills

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in
US, California:$63,000.00-$166,000.00
Salaryrangedependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
