Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant discipline with an emphasis in communication systems or satellite terminals
  • Minimum 10 years experience in product management in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years in the satcom sector
  • Strong experience managing hardware and software product portfolios
  • Familiarity with Agile scrum development methodology
Responsibilities
  • As a member of the User Terminal team, you will be responsible for the enterprise user terminal portfolio management, product roadmap, and product development of UTs for the Telesat Lightspeed network
  • Ensure that Telesat Lightspeed user terminal terminals are designed to meet market needs to deliver the most compelling products and operate at the highest quality-of-service standards
  • Develop HW and SW product requirements and technical specifications for use by internal and external development teams
  • Engage with Enterprise customers to gather insights, validate product strategy and represent the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure new product roadmaps and development meet the corporate strategy and the go-to-market initiatives to drive service adoption that meets or exceeds revenue targets, alongside the Telesat Commercial team
  • Manage the creation of RFIs/RFPs to issue to vendors and integrators; help evaluate responses for technical commercial merit; make recommendations on procurement strategy
  • Work in close collaboration with Telesat’s systems engineering and technical product management teams to ensure seamless integration of terminal functionality and performance within the complete system and according to product roadmaps
Desired Qualifications
  • Masters degree or MBA is a plus
  • Knowledge of satellite antenna and modem technologies required for terminals to operate through GSO and NGSO satellites and provide service to satcom markets
  • Knowledge of satellite markets and Enterprise verticals
  • Ability to write clear, concise and testable product requirements and experience in prioritization of features, enhancements and minimum viable products
  • Success in building winning communication products and managing long term roadmaps for complex communication systems
  • Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams including technology, business development, marketing, sales, operation and support
  • Experience working with external vendors including outside design and manufacturing facilities
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to summarize complex problems, solutions and recommendations for diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues and executives
  • Fluent in English, written and oral

Farcast will deliver a Flat Panel Antenna User Terminal integrated with the Telesat Lightspeed modem, with production planned for 2027. Telesat will also join Farcast's board.
