Requirements
  • A university or college degree is required, although relevant and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Experience and/or education plus relevant work experience equating to a bachelor's degree will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Six to eight years of data management experience, including a minimum of one year of direct sponsor management, is required.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes, data management, clinical operations, biometrics, and system applications supporting operations is required.
  • Time management skills and the ability to adhere to project productivity metrics and timelines are required.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with peers is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead clinical data management studies involving healthy volunteer and patient populations, multisite studies, client management, or reduced timelines.
  • Organize and prioritize workload and deliverables effectively.
  • Be accountable for all assigned data management deliverables according to established timelines, instruct data management study teams, review their output, and adjust resource allocations as needed.
  • Ensure allocated projects comply with relevant protocols, global harmonized standard operating procedures, and Good Clinical Practice standards.
  • Work with project managers to build timelines for contracted milestones by communicating with discipline leads and the full project team, including at study initiation meetings.
  • Provide data management project team leadership and accountability, lead data-focused internal project team meetings, coordinate deliverables with Electronic Data Capture Design, Statistical Analysis System Programming, Statistics, and Pharmacokinetics leads, identify risks and mitigations, and communicate data-driven discussions to achieve database lock dates.
  • Maintain awareness of Biometrics functional-group deliverables to support risk and mitigation strategies and consult with project managers or functional-group management as necessary.
  • Keep project managers, the Biometrics management team, and sponsor services informed about project and sponsor information, including budget status, scope changes, and timeline impacts.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and review client satisfaction surveys.
  • Track scope changes, obtain sponsor approval with the project manager, and ensure scope changes are processed.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching in clinical data management processes to the internal study team.
  • Support data management managers with performance evaluations of team members and provide constructive feedback for career development, interpersonal skills, and competency standards.
  • Learn new data management technologies and applied processes and keep current with industry technology and process-improvement feasibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken.
  • Reconcile the clinical database against safety data, laboratory data, or other third-party data as appropriate, using local laboratory systems and batch data-load facilities when appropriate.
  • Represent data management and, when necessary, Biometrics in new-business opportunities.
  • Attend and act on client or internal audits and resolve issues within appropriate timeframes.
  • Address client comments with the study team.
  • Promote Biometrics services to sponsors.
  • Perform other duties assigned by line management.
  • Work in an office and home-based environment, with overtime and weekend work as required and flexible shifts according to business requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience handling customer concerns and managing scope of work and budgets is preferred.
  • A university or college degree in life sciences, health sciences, information technology, or related subjects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of science or a scientific background is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Fortrea's organization and standard operating procedures is preferred.
  • At least three years of Electronic Data Capture experience is preferred.
  • Good organizational, communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills are desirable.

Fortrea shares fall 5.7% despite Q2 revenue beat of $678M in drug development sector review

Fortrea, a contract research organisation spun off from Labcorp in 2023, reported Q2 revenues of $678.2 million, down 4.5% year-on-year but exceeding analyst expectations by 4.7%. The company helps pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies develop products through clinical trials and support services. Chief executive officer Anshul Thakral said the results reflected continued progress against the company's strategy and disciplined execution. The quarter saw Fortrea beat earnings per share estimates, with full-year revenue guidance surpassing analyst expectations. Among the eight drug development inputs and services stocks tracked, revenues collectively beat consensus estimates by 4.1%. Despite posting the slowest revenue growth in the group, the sector's share prices rose 12.6% on average. Fortrea's stock fell 5.7% following the results and currently trades at $19.52.

Fortrea Holdings reported second-quarter revenue of $678.2 million, exceeding analyst estimates by 4.7% despite a 4.5% year-on-year decline. The clinical research company's adjusted earnings per share of $0.23 beat consensus estimates by 27.2%. The company raised its full-year revenue guidance to $2.66 billion at the midpoint, up 2.1% from previous guidance and 1.8% above analyst expectations. Full-year EBITDA guidance of $212.5 million also surpassed estimates. Operating margin improved significantly to 2.2%, compared to negative 46.5% in the same quarter last year. CEO Anshul Thakral said the results reflect continued progress against the company's strategy. However, analysts project revenue to remain flat over the next 12 months, suggesting limited near-term growth prospects.
