JOLT Charge operates a network of fast EV charging stations with a freemium pricing model: drivers get a daily 7 kWh allowance, after which additional charging is billed per kWh. Payments can be made through JOLT Charge’s own system or via third-party charging cards, offering convenience across different networks. The service focuses on urban and suburban areas in the UK and Europe, aiming to be easy for new users to adopt. The goal is to attract many EV owners, grow the charging network in cities, and provide a convenient, fast charging option across its regions.

What believers are saying

  • March 2026 sign-ups jumped 54.5%, showing strong consumer pull for free charging.
  • Q4 2025 impressions rose 30% to 177 million monthly ad views after 30 new screens.
  • The Volta acquisition and Canada Infrastructure Bank loan fund scale across North America through 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Shell’s Volta integration must execute fast, or U.S. expansion stalls after January 1, 2026.
  • JOLT depends on advertising economics; if screen fill rates weaken, charger subsidies erode.
  • Canada’s $214 million rollout raises capital intensity; delays or permits can strand returns by 2027.

What makes JOLT Charge unique

  • JOLT pairs EV charging with DOOH, spanning 4,750 screens across 34 states by August 2026.
  • Its freemium model gives 7 kWh daily free, anchoring habitual urban driver usage.
  • JOLT’s asset mix reaches transit and retail precincts, not highway-only charging competitors.

JOLT launches Spark Intelligence in US with 4,750 screens for audience-led digital out-of-home planning

JOLT, a global digital out-of-home (DOOH) and electric vehicle charging network, has launched Spark Intelligence in the United States. The platform supports more than 4,750 digital screens across 34 states and 65 DMAs. Spark Intelligence uses over 2,500 audience segments and 1.5 billion monthly geospatial data points to help advertisers identify where target consumers are concentrated. The platform enables campaign activation across relevant screens and connects ad exposure to measurable outcomes. Rather than selecting screens by location, the system starts with the target audience. Advertisers can measure results through store visitation, web activity, brand lift and sales lift. The platform offers premium formats including video, 3D and dynamic triggers, with real-time optimisation. JOLT operates across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

"Tim is a leader in every sense of the word. He knows JOLT inside and out, he understands what great work looks like, and he has the patience and craft to see it through. He has a track record for being meticulous and dedicated to his partnerships - he's been known to work with clients for the better part of a year to get a campaign exactly right," Moffat said in the release.

Jolt OOH network impressions see robust increase

Jolt OOH network impressions see robust increase. March 16, 2026 Jolt, Australia's first network of EV charging stations and owner of a digital out-of-home advertising network, saw its digital OOH network impressions jump by 30% from Q3 2025 to Q4 2025. The increase spurred a lifting capacity to more than 177 million ad views each month and was due to a launch of 30 high-impact screens across Western Sydney and Brisbane, according to a press release. The new screens increased the network's physical footprint by 11% and boosted audience reach and engagement. Jolt bolstered its free EV charging offering in Western Sydney in recent months, with new sites unveiled in Parramatta, Blacktown and Bella Vista in key transit and entertainment precincts. Jolt's recent Brisbane expansion, including new sites in Windsor, Clayfield, Taringa, Toowong, Virginia, Chermside North and Zillmere Village in the city's north, have driven large-scale growth for its Queensland network, with a 48% jump in Jolt screens and delivering a 47% lift in ad impressions. Jolt Australian Country Manager Stuart Moffatt said the data highlights Jolt's unique ability to build brand salience through strategic density. "Our focus is on taking a strategic approach to network density - by securing unbeatable real estate in essential transit and retail hubs, Jolt is delivering higher frequency and stronger ROI for our brand partners," Moffatt said in the release. Jolt also expanded its footprint in New Zealand in 2025, rolling out charging stations in Wellington, while expanding its Canadian and U.K. footprint.
