- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required, along with at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- At least 5 years of experience working in a healthcare or pharmacy environment with direct patient and clinician contact is required.
- An active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician License is required.
- Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, internet navigation, and web-based platforms.
- Data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through a pre-employment assessment.
- Lead the assigned Specialty Liaison team and manage and direct activities that support a high-quality patient experience.
- Coach and develop the liaison team and instill Shields culture at the health system partner site.
- Provide ongoing performance coaching, feedback, training, and development to liaison teams.
- Facilitate communication among liaisons, Shields functional groups, pharmacy teams, and clinic teams.
- Meet or exceed site operational targets related to clinic service, growth, patient satisfaction, and outcomes.
- Identify and implement improvement initiatives at health system partners to drive growth and efficiency.
- Engage with Shields functional group leadership to meet operational targets and drive growth and efficiency.
- Establish relationships with health system partner stakeholders, including clinic leadership and pharmacy teams.
- Communicate the value of Shields' clinic operations team, address concerns, and provide regular updates to clinic leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership teams on strategic initiatives, including new clinic launches, workflow changes, and other growth initiatives.
- Provide performance updates to the Shields leadership team.
- Ensure Specialty Liaison team accountability and consistent use of best practices for prior authorizations, patient financial assistance, medication refills, patient appointments, and patient outreach.
- Ensure coverage for Specialty Liaisons when they are absent.
- Work through barriers to success within clinics with support from home-office staff.
- Identify clinic issues, create action plans with the manager, and ensure timely implementation of improvement efforts.
- Partner with the data analytics team and Patient Support Center to execute identified opportunities.
- Identify, assess, and contribute to continuous process improvement and optimization initiatives.
- Provide subject matter expertise to hospitals and clinics within the manager's span of control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- National certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience as a licensed pharmacy technician is considered optimal.
- Experience in a retail, hospital, or provider setting communicating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, preferably in an outpatient or medical clinic setting, is a plus.

Evernorth Health Services announced on Tuesday a $3.5 billion investment in Shields Health Solutions, a specialty pharmacy management company.
Cigna's unit, Evernorth Health, will invest $3.5 billion in Shields Health to enhance its specialty pharmacy business. This investment follows Shields' transition to a private company after Sycamore Partners acquired its former parent, Walgreens Boots Alliance, for $10 billion. Evernorth, which operates Accredo, aims to meet the growing demand for specialty medications. The investment is in preferred stock and won't impact Cigna's 2025 profit forecast.
