Do you like distilling complex problems into actionable solutions? Are you able to quantify costs, understand their business impact, and communicate the tradeoffs? Do you want to use data to identify key opportunities and drive multi-million dollar investment decisions for Wayfair’s supply chain business? If so, then you would be a perfect fit for Strategic Operations Finance (SOF) within its rapidly growing logistics arm, CastleGate.
What you’ll do:
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) of transportation and warehouse businesses, communicate variances over time, and partner with senior leaders in key business decisions
- Build financial models to understand the cash flow impact and ROI of warehouse investments
- Communicate costs and benefits of CastleGate services to supplier teams by utilizing Google Big Query (GBQ) data
- Automate dashboards and monthly reporting materials for leadership meetings through Google DataStudio
What You’ll Need:
- Currently pursuing Bachelors degree
- Able to commit to working 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm)
- Interest in strategy and finance
- Detail oriented
- Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
- Comfort with fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to work independently
- Positive attitude
- Familiarity with e-commerce
- Be a self-starter who is resourceful and a team player
- Have baseline Excel skills (basic math formulas, pivot tables, data validation) with desire to learn more
- Enjoys tackling new challenges in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Ability to identify main problems and provide actionable solutions (critical thinking & problem solving)
- Be an effective communicator who will gain insightful practice of written and verbal communication with key stakeholders and senior leadership
- Optional, but not necessary: Experience in data analysis software (GBQ or SQL) or similar computing programs (Matlab, Stata, Python)
Wayfair Co-Op Program Overview
Based in Wayfair’s Boston headquarters, Our co-op program is a six-month, full-time, paid program that runs twice annually in January to June and July to December Through the co-op program, students have the opportunity to gain impactful professional experience in their major or career field of interest by fully integrating with Wayfair business units. While the majority of Wayfair co-ops join directly from an academic program, some co-ops join us from varying professional and academic backgrounds seeking a six-month professional experience. In addition to exciting project work, Wayfair co-ops have the opportunity to build their professional networks, take advantage of training offerings, and attend social events throughout the program.
An Important Note about Wayfair’s In-Office Policy:
All Boston-based interns, co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and work remotely the other 2 days of the week. We are continuing to monitor the evolving COVID-19 pandemic in partnership with state and local governments.
