Requirements
  • The FSM Finance/Accounting Specialist II requires a BS/BA degree (or equivalent) plus approximately 2 to 4 years of experience in related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools and technology.
  • Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and compliant with established criteria; duties performed competently and professionally meeting milestones/delivery schedules.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing; strong presentation skills.
  • Must be eligible for a Facility Access Authorization (employment authorization) by the U.S. Government Security Office.
  • Location: CONUS/OCONUS Seattle, WA; travel may be coordinated and approved in advance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe); advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word; proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required (stated again).
  • Travel: Travel as coordinated with technical POC and approved in writing by Contracting Officer in advance, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares various accounting papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries.
  • Examines assigned accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable accounting standards.
  • Develops nonstandard reports and statements as needed.
  • Analyzes trends or deviations from standards.
  • Supports project teams and program managers; provides daily execution of assigned work functions.
  • Provides management support to collect, evaluate and test financial data for recurring departmental processes and reviews; summarizes issues and findings.
  • Conducts periodic reconciliation reviews of external interfaces with various field offices to identify and correct data gaps, financial discrepancies and errors.
  • Works with a variety of information technology systems to provide Enterprise Services staff support.
  • Provides acquisition support for all bureaus with skill sets in information technology, financial management, human resources, program management, economic analysis, executive support and administrative support.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Maintains advanced experience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing to support standard services across the Department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance is required with at least three years work experience in accounting, budget execution, information technology, financial system requirements and analysis, financial planning and reporting, auditing, and internal financial controls.
