Requirements
  • High school diploma required; six years of relevant experience; contractor must be a U.S. citizen; must be able to use a computer to communicate via email and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools; depending on task assignments, certain permanent employees must have the ability to obtain a Q Clearance; travel to and within the Hanford Site on an as needed basis; work location at the Department of Energy Richland Operations Office located in Richland, Washington.
Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze personnel records for relevant information and prepare summary documents as requested.
  • Compile the entire EEOICPA package after information is received on site, including employment verification prepared, evaluate for completeness and process the claim to requesting agents.
  • Ensure duties are performed competently and professionally meeting milestones and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure work products are thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with mandated schedules.
  • Maintain professional contacts with claimants and other EEOICPA staff, recognizing sensitive personal dynamics and issues of claimants and impacted personnel.
  • Provide support on day-to-day administration, management and tracking of all aspects of the EEOICPA claim process applicable to Hanford and PNNL facilities and employees.
  • Process all requests in a timely manner within scope of work and control, and prepare reports, correspondence, copying, and documentation as requested.
  • Communicate effectively with Federal and contractor staff and with claimants; keep the DOE Richland Program Manager informed of progress and issues.
  • Coordinate shipments and electronic downloads/uploads of claim-related information according to DOE-RL directions and procedures; provide routine monthly status reports and other reports as requested.
  • Conduct research to respond to inquiries from Department of Labor and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health related to Hanford past practices or history to support claim development; compile finding aids documenting unusual sources of employment information and manage securely.
  • Provide verification of employment reports for former contractors based on review and analysis of personnel records, including narrative job title and work location, and completion of EE-5 forms.
  • Assist in logging documents or boxes into tracking systems; move records boxes to ensure accurate staging; scan personnel, medical or claim records and merge e-claim files; provide typing, scanning, or records management support to EEOICPA claim and other functions; create documents, lists, or indices from various sources.
