Requirements
  • The candidate must possess a degree in therapy from an accredited school.
  • The candidate must have thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing.

Responsibilities
  • The Director is responsible for overall therapy, wellness, and fitness advocacy within the community.
  • The Director must assign patient scheduling and other responsibilities to staff as needed.
  • The Director must manage, orient, train, evaluate, and counsel department team members to improve job performance and maintain high standards of performance and patient quality care.
  • The Director must lead the interview process for hiring department team members.
  • The Director must ensure compliance with company and community-specific policies and procedures for the department.
  • The Director must ensure that therapists and therapy assistants maintain accurate and concise medical-record documentation that meets governmental and third-party payor requirements, minimizes duplication, and clearly reflects patient status, skilled intervention, and outcomes.
  • The Director must communicate and coordinate department functions with other services to promote team rapport and effectiveness.
  • The Director must communicate with community leadership regarding department programs, goals, objectives, risks, and successes.
  • The Director must communicate with the public, including medical personnel, regarding therapy services offered by the company.
  • The Director must participate in utilization review, quality assurance, resident care coordination, admission meetings, department-head meetings, community-education planning, and rehabilitation conferences.
  • The Director is responsible for revenue and expense controls to meet budgetary requirements.
  • The Director must establish department goals and objectives and implement strategies and activities to achieve them.
  • The Director must ensure timely and accurate billing of services and completion of required documentation while maintaining service quality.
  • The Director must enhance clinical expertise and professional and management skills through interaction with managers, therapists, and other professional staff, self-study, and continuing education.
  • The Director must maintain a valid state license where appropriate and remain aware of issues related to the rehabilitation and senior-living profession.
  • The Director must understand relevant payment models, billing and treatment guidelines, and clinically appropriate means and modes of delivery, and provide quality care with reasonable goals and outcomes within those guidelines.
  • The Director must comply with infection-control procedures and environmental-safety protocols within the community.
  • The Director must conduct themselves ethically, legally, and responsibly and adhere to the Employee Handbook and Code of Business Conduct.
  • The Director may be required to travel up to 75%.
  • The Director must attend mandatory meetings, trainings, and delegated assignments.
  • The Director must perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist Therapist is preferred.
  • One year of management experience is preferred.

How Nexion Health and Reliant Rehabilitation Are Building Awareness, Advocacy, and Stronger Connections to Resident Care using RPCEA At Nexion Health, in partnership with Reliant Rehabilitation, Nexion Health, Inc. continue to focus on proactive systems that support quality outcomes, survey readiness, staff education; resident engagement, advocacy and access; as well as consistent program execution across its facilities. One important part of that commitment is the Rehab Program Compliance & Education Audit, known as RPCEA. RPCEA is more than a checklist. It is a structured annual compliance and education cycle designed to ensure rehab programs are implemented, understood, reinforced, and consistently executed at the facility level. Through this process, each facility has an organized opportunity to review key rehab program expectations, strengthen interdisciplinary awareness, and reinforce education with both staff and residents. Why RPCEA matters. Rehabilitation programs are most successful when they are visible, interdisciplinary, and well-integrated into the day-to-day operations of the facility. RPCEA supports that goal by helping teams stay connected to the "why" behind each program, the documentation that supports it, and the education needed to sustain it. The RPCEA process promotes proactive readiness, not reactive correction. Rather than waiting until a concern arises, the monthly cadence allows facilities to build consistency over time through brief, focused education and follow-through.
