Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated graduate program graduating Dec 2024 or beyond
- Strategic thinker with ability to derive and translate data analytics to meet business goals
- Must be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, handle multiple tasks, consistently meet established deadlines, and deliver exceptional results
- Working knowledge and understanding of ESG initiatives, standards and trends, especially those relevant to technology industry
- Knowledge and understanding of global environmental issues landscape including climate change, and the role of private sector in addressing these challenges
- Perform project management duties, creating and documenting processes, developing timelines, and communicating the business case(s) / value add proposition of recommendations
- Proven track record of project management and execution with ability to manage deliverables and deadlines for multiple initiatives across teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Investigate Mastercard historical spend on energy and capital projects (e.g., Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency); determine opportunities for automation, improvement of net zero expenditure management, and/or forecast of efficiencies (e.g., spend, emissions) gained as a result of climate-related asset investment
- Partner cooperatively in a team environment to support the evolution of Mastercard's operational and supply chain sustainability program
- Review existing financial controls for environmental metrics and targets, as drafted, to provide supplemental information or recommendation on how the process(es) and procedures(s) can be improved
- Support other climate assessments and reporting projects, including but not limited to analysis in line with TCFD, SEC Climate Rule, EU Taxonomy expectations, EU CSRD, GHG Protocol
- Perform desktop research to identify regional or global trends, summarize peer best practice(s) and develop key performance metrics and reporting
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines
