Owen taps Assurant to power embedded travel insurance for Swan's business cards across Europe

Owen, an insurtech specialising in embedded insurance, has partnered with Assurant to provide insurance capacity for Swan, Europe's leading embedded banking platform. The collaboration enables Swan to integrate travel insurance and fraud protection directly into its card products across France and Europe. Under the arrangement, Assurant serves as the risk carrier, Owen acts as broker and third-party administrator, and Allianz provides assistance services. The programme launched in April 2026 with Swan, which processes approximately €2 billion in monthly transactions across 30 European countries and serves over 150 companies including Pennylane, Indy and Agicap. The partnership allows Swan's partners to offer embedded insurance natively within their card products, eliminating months of integration work and complex regulatory requirements.

However, against an uncertain and dynamic operating backdrop, money and innovation are increasingly flowing to the enterprise back office thanks to a rising generation of FinTechs and startups focused on areas like accounts payable and receivable automation, cyber security, working capital solutions and more. Even corporate event planning is getting the startup treatment, with Paris-based business planning startup Naboo announcing a $21 million Series A funding round Wednesday (Jan. 29)
