Instructional Designer

Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for an Instructional Designer/ Fellowship Education Consultant who supports fellowship education and workforce development initiatives by designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating competency-based learning programs. This role provides instructional design expertise, curriculum development support, training needs assessment, and educational consultation to enhance fellowship programs and workforce capabilities. The position collaborates with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and program staff to deliver high-quality learning solutions aligned with adult learning principles and organizational training standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop competency-based curricula, training programs, and educational materials.
• Create learning objectives, assessments, and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness.
• Apply instructional design methodologies to develop instructor-led, virtual, and online learning solutions.
• Conduct training needs assessments through research, surveys, interviews, and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning consultation to program teams.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and update training content.
• Evaluate existing training programs and recommend improvements based on learner and program data.
• Develop e-learning courses using approved authoring tools and learning technologies.
• Support accreditation activities and ensure training products align with quality standards.
• Maintain and update curricula, learning resources, and training documentation.
• Manage training projects, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide status updates and recommendations.
• Promote available training services, learning systems, and workforce development resources.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to support fellowship education initiatives.
• Curate and organize learning resources to support workforce and fellowship development programs.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning, Training and Development, Public Health, Human Resources Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, training development, or workforce education.
• Experience applying adult learning theories and instructional systems design methodologies.
• Experience developing instructor-led, virtual, and online learning solutions.
• Experience conducting training needs assessments and evaluating learning effectiveness.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning, Public Health, or a related field.
• Experience supporting government, public health, healthcare, or workforce development programs.
• Experience with competency-based education frameworks.
• Knowledge of continuing education accreditation processes.
• Familiarity with federal training standards and quality assurance processes.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts in complex organizational environments.
