Requirements
- Strong experience in distributed software design and architecture.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience deploying and developing OpenStack or other cloud management frameworks.
- Experience in load balancing and cloud computation project integration.
- Solid Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of Linux networking concepts.
- Cloud set-top box domain experience with OpenStack.
- Experience virtualizing customer premises equipment components in the cloud.
- Experience deploying set-top box applications in Docker and OpenStack.
- Knowledge of set-top box encoders, decoders, and transcoding.
Responsibilities
- Design specifications and write software for OpenStack, including new features and customizations for real-world customers, covering OpenStack projects such as Neutron, Nova, and Cinder, as well as the Fuel OpenStack Installer project.
- Design ways to enable resiliency and availability for legacy enterprise applications that move to a cloud platform such as OpenStack.
- Share knowledge with other engineering teams and product management.
- Develop tooling and automation to test the resiliency and availability of highly distributed OpenStack projects and infrastructure components.
- Represent engineering in the OpenStack community and in front of customers.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with set-top box domain Java enterprise applications and porting or bridging them into cloud or virtualized platforms.
- First-hand experience with configuration management and deployment tools, including Docker.
- Experience with databases and message brokers such as Oracle 11g, WebLogic, ActiveMQ, and Spring.
- Experience configuring, customizing, and extending monitoring tools.
