Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Program eligibility is required.
  • A technical or scientific Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Candidates should have 0-3 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with electronics, information technology systems, and electronics design software is beneficial.
  • Candidates need strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Candidates need the dexterity and knowledge to work hands-on with tools and components.
  • A Secret security clearance is required.
  • Candidates need strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, logisticians, program managers, and data specialists.
Responsibilities
  • Operate and communicate effectively across multilevel security environments.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced senior engineers in support of the Navy’s Metrology Department.
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate physical electronic components and systems.
  • Calibrate instruments, design test equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement quality-assurance processes for products such as semiconductors and circuit boards.
  • Test and validate electronic components and systems to ensure that products meet quality and performance standards.
  • Perform calculations, work with electronics equipment, and contribute to the full lifecycle of hardware development, testing, and production.
  • Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other engineering documentation.
  • Analyze measurement data and maintain accurate records of results and calibrations.
  • Record complex problems that sometimes require resolution at a higher level and prepare test reports.
  • Support quality control by verifying compliance with the Navy’s METCAL standards.
  • Apply methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects; construct experimental or prototype models; conduct tests or experiments; develop and implement redesigns as necessary; and record and evaluate data and report findings.
