Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical inspection for building or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain thorough documentation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and NYC electrical safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect and assess electrical systems, components, and installations for code compliance and operational integrity.
  • Monitor the installation of conduits, panels, wiring, lighting, and power systems to ensure alignment with approved plans and specifications.
  • Review and interpret electrical design drawings, technical documents, and shop drawings to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve issues and ensure the smooth progression of electrical work.
  • Witness and verify testing of key systems, including grounding, insulation resistance, continuity, and emergency power systems.
  • Document daily inspection activities, report discrepancies, and provide regular updates to the project team.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with the NEC, NYC Electrical Code, DEP standards, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct field observations and assist in the approval process for electrical submittals and product data.
  • Coordinate across multiple work areas to support timely and efficient delivery of electrical milestones.
  • Promote and enforce site safety practices in accordance with OSHA and local regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with power distribution systems, lighting, fire alarm, and emergency power is highly desirable.
  • NYS or NYC Electrical License or equivalent inspection certification is preferred.
  • Experience with electrical systems in pump stations, treatment plants, or public infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Experience with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is advantageous.
