Requirements
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in clerical duties.
  • Willingness to train at the Latham location.
  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures, administer medications, and perform tests.
  • Assist patients with questions about medications and wound care.
  • File charts and ensure all related reports, laboratory results, and information are available in patients' medical records before appointments.
  • Take telephone messages, provide feedback, and answer patient, physician, and pharmacy calls.
  • Process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians.
  • Clean and restock examination rooms.
  • Sterilize instruments.
