General Description:
The IT Enterprise Architect (EA) Manager oversees the Solutions Architecture team and proactively and holistically helps and guides enterprise leaders, product owners, and project teams through transformation and optimization initiatives, supporting the formulation of business strategy, outcomes, and capabilities. The person fulfilling this role must have deep technical knowledge in networks, virtualization, cloud, application development, security, and automation tools. A successful EA Manager uses various approaches to construct current and future-state architecture models to support the firm’s growing needs. This person also facilitates business and IT alignment, connecting strategy to execution through a collaborative, supportive, and consultative manner, driving the organization’s digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth. This role proactively researches technology trends and identifies new or upgraded systems to help Holland & Knight improve its processes to operate more efficiently. Most importantly, the incumbent in this role must have exceptional communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to help deliver the vision set forth by firm leadership in alignment with its goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Works with the CIO, IT, and department leaders to design the required architecture to drive business outcomes.
- Oversees the Solutions Architecture team and leads team members to provide architecture direction, insight, and recommendations.
- Leads the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and technical debt and recommends improvement solutions.
- Responsible for the design, layout, floorplan, power management, capacity management, and cable management for the firm’s data centers and all the remote office MDF and IDF rooms.
- Maintain data center system documentation, including rack elevations.
- Assists with the development and administration of business continuity or disaster recovery plans.
- Helps to define metrics to measure and demonstrate enterprise technology value.
- Construct and maintain deliverables showing Holland & Knight’s current and future-state architecture.
- Facilitates the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations
- Develops visualizations to help firm leadership understand the future state architecture and how it achieves Holland & Knight’s goals and objectives.
- Communicates the value of enterprise architecture and its portfolio of services to key stakeholders.
- Works closely with IT peers and product owners to enable infrastructure agility, scalability, and resilience.
- Collaborates with department leaders to develop strategies for innovation and process optimization.
- Coaches and mentors product owners/managers and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking.

Required Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related study
- 5+ years of experience of solution architecture design covering IT products, services, and capabilities
- Relevant industry certifications (AWS, CISSP, Professional Cloud Solutions Architect, Open CA, ITIL)
- Knowledge in application development, application programming interfaces (APIs), mobile development, middleware, servers and storage, database management and operations, clustering technologies, virtualization, cloud technologies, and active directory and protocols
- Knowledge in data strategies, data lake house, generative AI, and enterprise search
- Knowledge of network and security architecture
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments
- Experience in designing and constructing diagrams for server rooms and data center buildouts, including power and redundancy
- Knowledge of business process management, workflow, and integration methods and tools
- Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives and how they relate to achieving targeted business outcomes
- Ability to assess the value and risk of existing, new, and emerging technologies against current technology solutions
- Understanding of portfolio management, agile principles, and development methodologies to support agile teams
- Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Comprehensive knowledge of organizational change management
- Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT development teams
