Responsibilities
  • Assists with the administration of Accessible Media services to Ohio State University students with disabilities
  • Assists with the management of acquiring, producing and distributing accessible course materials
  • Creates timelines for production for both caption and text materials
  • Trains and directs media/lab assistant student staff on the conversion processes
  • Assists with the management of Accessible Media and Captioning email boxes and responds or forwards emails on, as appropriate
  • Troubleshoots problems, and ensures that students’ needs are met
  • Maintains confidential information and records
  • Documents communication with and regarding students, courses and instructors in departmental database
  • Assists with direct supervision of student lab assistant and media employees
  • Ensures student staff’s compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Performs generalist functions within the overall office
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification or vocational training
  • 2 to 4 years experience working in a higher education setting
  • Experience serving individuals with physical, psychological, or learning disabilities
  • Experience creating and remediating accessible digital content
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities
