Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years in aviation safety management in an aviation setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • Experience in a safety role at an aircraft design and manufacturer
  • Thorough working knowledge of FAA Part 5 and NAS 9927
  • Experience with emerging technologies, such as electric propulsion and autonomous operations preferred
Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of all SMS requirements in accordance with FAA Part 5 and NAS 9927
  • Coordinate and facilitate safety risk assessment, track risk mitigations and maintain the Safety Risk Register
  • Collaborate with the leaders in ETD to ensure Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance processes are fully integrated
  • Assist with internal investigations and the development of corrective/preventive action recommendations in response to adverse events or safety trends
  • Assist with the development of initial and continuous improvement of safety performance metrics and safety goals
  • Support the development and maintenance of SMS digital tool
  • Stay informed of the latest regulatory guidance and industry standard methodologies pertaining to aviation safety, disseminate new information, and ensure company policies and procedures remain in compliance
  • Be a champion in safety promotion, by supporting the Safety Office to host safety events such as Safety Stand-down and conduct SMS trainings for employees
  • Liaise with Environment, Health, and Safety on items including safety reporting, risk assessment, and safety investigations
  • May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned
