We are currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner for our Madrid stores. You will be reporting into the Senior HR Manager for Spain, working closely with the Store Operations teams in Madrid, country, regional and Global HR colleagues. You will also partner with external service providers - such as recruitment related vendors, labour law institutions and our outsourced payroll vendor.
The role of the HR BP is to act as a role model for all UNIQLO and Fast Retailing values and principles, supporting line manager in the daily HR operations and delivering the HR services to our stores. You will ensure the business is operating in compliance with legal rules and obligations, as well as effectively implementing global HR projects locally.
What you will be responsible for
BUSINESS
Supporting the Country Senior HR Manager and country COO in deciding and maintaining organizational structure
Supporting and providing guidance to Madrid store operation teams in their day to day HR matters
Ensuring application of all HR policies and tools through regular store visits and HR audits, in line with country legal requirements, and provide communication and training on this when required.

RECRUITMENT
Discussing and collecting hiring plans from stores, and build up accurate recruitment calendar
Managing Madrid new store openings recruiting projects together with EU Talent Acquisition and Store operations team
In close collaboration with the EU Talent Acquisition team and Spain HR team, suggesting and supporting deployment of relevant sourcing and selection strategies for existing /new stores and store operations graduate scheme
Supporting the implementation of the recruiting processes and tools, offering store managers’ training and coaching
Setting up and deploying local recruiting and integration strategies for people with disabilities and refugees, in collaboration with HR and Sustainability colleagues
Contributing to the development of the employer brand image
PERFORMANCE AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
Initiating and deploying initiatives to maximize store employees’ engagement, motivation and retention
Facilitating trainings related to performance and people development processes
INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Being the main point of contact for all employee relation issues related to Madrid stores, and liaise with accurate specialist department to solve issues
Acting as a coach to line managers and employees in improving people management
Handling disciplinary cases in alignment with company policies and local legislation
EMPLOYEE REPRESENTATIVES AND RELATED MATTERS
Heading up health and safety committee in each store
Making sure collective agreements and other legal rules are properly applied in the stores. Alert management and take action when not respected.
OTHER
Constantly striving on improving processes and tools to support business in the most effective and flexible way
Working with HR team across EU to ensure consistency in policies and improvement of the business
Candidate’s Profile
Experience
Master’s degree in HR, business administration, psychology or legal
Minimum 5 years’ experience as HR generalist
Experience working in retail or hospitality industry
Experience working in a multi-national/global company
Skills
Solid knowledge in Madrid labor law
Fluent English
Knowledge of HRIS systems such as Workday would be an advantage
Proven track-record of project management skills
Ability to establish trust relationships at all levels in the business
Very good listening skills and communication
Ability to deliver results, proactive
