Requirements
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One-year related experience
  • Experience working with youth
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
  • Enforcing all laws, rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department
  • Performing alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions
  • Making physical inspections and security checks of grounds and facility and documenting results as required
  • Investigating incidents on center and providing clear and accurate reports
  • Controlling disturbances and assisting staff in de-escalating situations
  • Ensuring students’ civil rights are not violated
  • Providing vehicle transportation support function under direction of supervisor in compliance with government, corporate and management directives
  • Providing customer service and aide to all visitors, program participants, and staff
  • Picking up and delivering material as directed
  • Performing routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet; reporting vehicle repair needs as required
  • Issuing visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits
  • Completing required security logs, documentation, and records accurately and on time
  • Maintaining timely and accurate vehicle and transportation logs and records
  • Maintaining timely and accurate student accountability
  • Accurately logging employees, visitors, vendors, and program participants as they enter and exit the center
  • Searching all program participants entering center for contraband
  • Searching others entering and exiting center as required
  • Supervising program participants in isolation
  • Clearly communicating and consistently modeling appropriate CSS and employability skills
  • Maintaining accountability of staff, students, and property
  • Adhering to safety practices in all areas of responsibility
  • Fostering and sustaining a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning
  • Attending all required staff training opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned
