As a Senior AI/ML Engineer at Kouper, you’ll play a critical part in building our culture: you foster collaboration, innovation, empathy, and trust while leveraging your technical expertise to execute on the product vision.

You will be working directly with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and collaborating closely with product, operations, and clinical teams to create a robust system that supports real-time patient engagement and helps improve healthcare outcomes. You will play a key role in designing custom conversational agents that impact real-world healthcare outcomes and in shaping our technology and improving patient experiences. In this fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, you’ll see the direct results of your work on the lives of patients, while helping to build a mission-driven culture focused on healthcare transformation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for conversational AI, focusing on SMS and voice-based interactions.
Lead the development of scalable pipelines for data ingestion, training, and real-time deployment, ensuring seamless integration into the existing tech stack.
Optimize and fine-tune language models using healthcare-specific datasets for enhanced accuracy and performance.
Collaborate with full-stack engineers to integrate conversational AI functionalities into the product.
Work on end-to-end deployment of models, including monitoring and evaluating performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements.
Stay current on the latest AI/ML techniques, frameworks, tools, and healthcare advancements to keep Kouper at the bleeding edge.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a focus on NLP, LLMs, and conversational AI.
Experience in startups or fast-paced environments, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Proven track record of deploying AI models into production environments, ideally in healthcare or similarly regulated industries.
Expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, including prompt engineering, optimization, and integration into real-world applications.
Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other ML frameworks.
Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP), MLOps tools for scalable deployment, and open source LLM models.
Strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on translating complex requirements into effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in healthcare or similar high-impact sectors.
Background in deploying AI-driven conversational agents.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and other healthcare data privacy standards.
Familiarity with speech recognition and generation technologies.
