Requirements
  • At least 2 years of safety-related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Transportation regulations and practices, with emphasis on construction.
  • A history of safe personal practices and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate safety policies and procedures to workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, manage multiple tasks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Candidates must complete a selection assessment and pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Provide safety training and education to workers on fall protection, proper equipment use, emergency procedures, and hazard communication.
  • Create and maintain site-specific safety plans and protocols, including job hazard analyses and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses at construction sites to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, other relevant safety standards, and company policies.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and other safety equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and other safety-related documentation.
  • Identify risks and hazards associated with construction activities and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and communicate emergency response plans and ensure workers are trained to respond to emergencies.
  • Promote safe practices, encourage hazard reporting, and recognize safe behavior to foster a culture of safety.
  • Work with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of construction projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Construction Health and Safety Technician, Occupational Health and Safety Technologist, Certified Utility Safety Professional, or similar certification.
  • Bilingual Spanish language ability.

Breaking ground on another industrial project with Mapletree in Joliet. Keeley Construction recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 419,520-square-foot industrial facility at 1851 Brandon Road in Joliet, Illinois. The ceremony brought together representatives from Mapletree, Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), Architects Plus Design Studio, CAGE, and the Keeley Construction team to mark the beginning of another collaborative project. This development marks Keeley's second project with Mapletree in Joliet. Together, the two industrial facilities represent more than 731,800 square feet currently under construction, highlighting the continued strength of the partnership and Keeley's growing presence in the region's industrial market.
