Requirements
  • A high school diploma (or G.E.D.) is required to perform essential job functions.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior related experience required.
  • Proficient working knowledge of project planning and budgetary management is required.
  • Working knowledge of computer-related tasks with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Ability to travel to various geographic locations and some overnight stays, and ability to obtain and maintain the necessary travel documentation is required.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to meet business needs is required.
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle with a valid driver's license, provide proof of liability insurance, and be age 21 or older to drive for Buckner.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously, and ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Executive Director.
  • Independently manage tasks and projects; research, analyze data, produce monthly reports, and assist with budget preparation and reporting as assigned and required.
  • Serve as liaison between the Senior Executive Director and other personnel.
  • Effectively handle all types of communication, including internal and external constituents; provide support for correspondence.
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support for meetings as assigned by the Senior Executive Director and/or other designated staff.
  • Attend meetings at various geographic locations to assist with location and event needs.
  • Administer calls and requests for meetings and information from the Senior Executive Director’s office.
  • Maintain database information for the Senior Executive Director’s contacts by updating electronic contact lists accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain calendars for the Senior Executive Director and other designated staff; track appointments and events; maintain Network calendars for the Executive Director and Administrative Professional networks.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize all aspects of domestic and international travel for the Senior Executive Director and other staff as directed.
  • Prepare, audit, and process invoices for payment.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the annual BCFS Administrative Professionals Network Retreat, overseeing all aspects of end-to-end, large-scale event coordination.
  • Serve as Vice Chair of the BCFS Administration Support Professionals Steering Committee and collaborate with the Chair to align BCFS statewide administrative operations with the organization’s strategic plan and initiatives from the President’s Office.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification in project management preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish preferred.

Buckner acquires its first independent-only senior community.

Buckner acquires its first independent-only senior community. April 3, 2026 Dallas-based Buckner Retirement Services, in a joint venture with Presbyterian Homes & Services, has acquired its first independent living-only community from Life Care Services. The property is Buckner's eighth senior living community in Texas, and all of them have an independent living component. Although the community is jointly owned, Buckner will exclusively manage the day-to-day operations under a new subsidiary, Signature Buckner Management Group. "Entering into this joint venture with PHS was a natural fit and a decision rooted in our shared, faith-based values and commitment to serving others. By bringing our teams together, we have a meaningful opportunity to learn from one another and combine our strengths to elevate resident experience," Buckner Senior Vice President Ken Robbins said in a statement. The Bedford, TX property, located between Dallas and Fort Worth, formerly was called Parkwood and has been renamed Lightwell under the new owners. "Lightwell means 'place where light shines,' a fitting name and description for the community, aptly describing a place of peace and purpose in a thriving and joyful setting," Buckner said. Lightwell has 147 independent living apartments grouped around interior courtyards, all connected to a central clubhouse via covered breezeways. Amenities include on-site dining services, salon services, a variety of social and enrichment activities, and close proximity to medical, dining and retail services. "This is an exciting new chapter for the community, and we look forward to serving the residence with excellence. The addition of another vibrant community in a strong market like Dallas-Fort Worth helps build a more sustainable future to continue our mission serving senior adults," Robbins said.
